Doctor of technical sciences graduated from the heat-and-power engineering department of the Kyiv Polytechnical Institute in 1957, defended his PhD thesis in 1965, and defended his thesis for a Doctor's degree in 1990. In 1957-59 he had been working as an engineer-constructor in the gas turbine construction enterprise "Mashproekt". From 1959 he has been working in the Institute of Technical Thermophysics of the NASU

Scientific interests include: thermophysics, heat transmission and heat exchange, heat-and-power engineering, thermophysical machine construction. For a long period of time he has dealt with issues of thermal protection of gas-turbine elements, studied thermophysical properties of heat-protected materials, researched and developed cooling systems for gas-turbine blades, developed the methodology and mechanisms for experimental examination of the details for gas-turbine rotors in the normal state of engine operation. In recent years he has worked on developing cogeneration technologies in the heat-and-power engineering. He is the author and co-author of more than 80 publications, 1 monograph comprising 3 volumes, more than 30 patents.
